Ho-Joong Jang primarily handles criminal cases, corporate advisory, digital forensics, and tax and customs matters at HwaHyun.
He began his career as a prosecutor at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office in 1995, and held various high-level positions, including Chief Prosecutor at the Busan District Prosecutors’ Office and Chief Prosecutor at the Jeonju District Prosecutors’ Office, before retiring in 2019.
During his 26 years in the prosecution service and the Ministry of Justice, he handled a wide range of cases and responsibilities with creativity and diligence. His work included investigations into corporate crimes, antitrust issues, intellectual property rights, tax and customs violations, violent crimes, and public safety offenses. Additionally, he was involved in overseeing the duties of legal and prosecution staff nationwide and participated in the revision of criminal procedure laws, prosecutor disciplinary laws, and various regulations related to the prosecution service.
Before joining HwaHyun as a partner in 2024, he ran a corporate management consulting firm that combined digital forensics with accounting analysis to preemptively address or investigate corporate risks such as embezzlement, breach of trust, and antitrust violations. He also published a book on customs law while pursuing a Ph.D. at the Graduate School of Taxation, University of Seoul.
